• Precious: richer essences aimed at dryness and visible signs of aging, built around LuLuLun's L22 moisture complex.
• Over 45: formulated specifically for mature skin, with a heavier feel.
• Hydra: the actives line. Each mask carries a targeted ingredient. This is where you go when a basic hydrating mask is no longer doing enough.

Hydra-V: The Multivitamin Mask

Hydra-V is the one to reach for if you have dull skin. LuLuLun builds it around seven vitamins and seven herb extracts, and the vitamin list is the interesting part because they chose stable, low-irritation forms rather than the aggressive versions.

Ascorbyl glucoside is vitamin C in a stable form, so it brightens skin and helps fade the look of dark spots without the sting straight vitamin C can cause. Niacinamide is vitamin B3, which evens tone and reduces the look of pores. Retinyl palmitate is a mild vitamin A derivative that supports smoother texture over time. Panthenol is vitamin B5 for comfort and moisture, and vitamin E rounds it out with antioxidant protection. Alongside those, bakuchiol appears fairly high in the list. Bakuchiol is a plant-derived ingredient used in Ayurvedic traditions that supports firmer, springier-feeling skin and is gentle enough for sensitive skin, which is why formulators like pairing it with a weak retinoid instead of using a strong one.

The seven herbs are the soothing layer: centella asiatica, licorice root, green tea leaf, rosemary, chamomile, Japanese knotweed root and Chinese skullcap root. Together they calm things down so the actives do not feel harsh.

Hydra-AZ is the mask I recommend most often, because the problem it solves is so common and so badly served by ordinary hydrating masks. If your T-zone is oily but your cheeks feel tight, a rich mask makes one half worse. This one is built to sit in the middle.

The headline ingredient is potassium azeloyl diglycinate, a gentle water-soluble derivative of azelaic acid. Plain azelaic acid is a dermatologist favorite for redness, bumps and uneven tone, but it can be gritty and irritating. This derivative delivers a similar calming, tone-evening effect in a form your skin tolerates daily. Behind it, mandelic acid does the smoothing. Mandelic is the mildest of the common exfoliating acids because its molecule is large, so it works slowly at the surface and rarely stings. It lifts the dead cell buildup that makes pores look bigger and skin feel rough.

Niacinamide sits third in the ingredient list, which is high, and it is doing the heavy lifting on tone and the look of pores. Hydration comes from hydrolyzed sodium hyaluronate for deep hydration that plumps skin, plus two fermented extracts, bifida ferment filtrate and a pear juice ferment, which condition skin without any greasy feel.

It is fragrance-free, silicone-free and free of harsh alcohols. Apply to clean, dry skin, leave on 10 to 15 minutes, then pat the rest in. No rinsing.

Hydra-EX: The Exosome and Glutathione Mask

Hydra-EX is the most loaded mask in the line and the one with the longest ingredient list. It is also the most interesting, because it brings two ingredients into a drugstore-format mask that normally live in clinic-priced skincare.

The first is a Japan-made exosome-derived skin-conditioning ingredient, a cutting-edge firming ingredient from stem cell research. Exosomes are tiny messenger particles, and the mask contains an exosome-derived ingredient, not stem cells themselves. LWhat it does in practice is leave skin feeling smoother, softer and more supple.

The second is glutathione, a powerful antioxidant that fights dullness and uneven tone. It is paired with arbutin, a brightening ingredient that targets dark spots. Between the two, this is the Hydra mask aimed squarely at grey, tired-looking skin.

Ceramides NP and AP rebuild the skin's protective barrier. Hydroxypropyltrimonium hyaluronate is a modified hyaluronic acid that clings to skin longer than the standard version, so hydration lasts past the ten minutes you are wearing it. Squalane, a lightweight oil that locks in moisture without clogging pores, plus jojoba and olive oils, seal it all in. 

The sheet is a three-layer Melty Feel Sheet holding a generous amount of essence across the 150ml pack. It is thicker than the other three and hugs the contours of the face closely. The formula is fragrance-free, colorant-free, mineral oil-free and alcohol-free.

Hydra-PD: The PDRN Firming Mask

Hydra-PD is the newest thinking in the line. PDRN, short for polydeoxyribonucleotide, came out of Korean regenerative skincare and has spread fast through both Korean and Japanese formulas. It is a DNA fragment ingredient used to support skin conditioning and the appearance of elasticity.

What makes this mask worth a look is that LuLuLun used two forms at different molecular sizes rather than one. There is a smaller, low-molecular plant-derived PDRN and a larger, high-molecular salmon-derived form listed on the label as DNA-Na. The smaller molecules settle in first, the larger ones follow, which gives you a layered effect rather than everything sitting on the surface at once.

Around the PDRN: water-soluble collagen leaves skin feeling plumper, ginseng root extract supports a healthy-looking glow, niacinamide evens tone and reduces the look of pores, and panthenol, vitamin B5, keeps skin soothed and comfortable. How to Use a Hydra Mask (and How Often)

These are lotion-style masks, meaning they replace your toner or essence step rather than sitting on top of a finished routine. Cleanse, apply the mask to bare skin, then follow with your serum and moisturizer after you take it off.

Wear time is shorter than you might expect. Hydra-EX and Hydra-PD want 5 to 10 minutes. Hydra-V and Hydra-AZ want 10 to 15. 

When you remove it, fold the sheet and use it to wipe the extra essence across your neck, then pat whatever is left on your face until it absorbs. Do not rinse.

On frequency: the whole point of this line is daily use, and the seven-sheet pack is sized as a week's supply. That said, if you are new to masking or have reactive skin, start at two or three times a week and build from there. The only masks I would not use every single day without checking in with your skin are Hydra-AZ and Hydra-V, because both contain mild actives. Every other day is plenty.

How many masks are in the LuLuLun Hydra series?

Do I still need moisturizer after a sheet mask?
